Liz got delayed and wasn't able to reach me until I had
already begun without her. After this long segment, she was
able to offer a much appreciated ride back to my car. This was
a very interesting section, with an unexpected wide sandy beach
and an unmapped lagoon.
This really was one of the most ironic sections of beach I mapped. Mixed in with the really wonderful beach, there were many examples of abuse. From the abundance of plain old dirty GARBAGE on the beach, to the numerous examples of cutting down the trees on the bluff to get a good view. I have seen SO many examples of this being followed by the bluff cascading down onto the beach and the owner frantically trying to save their yard. It's really a shame. They should see what I have seen. It got to where I could often tell cut trees by the condition of the beach. |
