KNOTWEED ERADICATION EFFORTS

Noxious weeds are non-native, or unrecorded plant species that are highly destructive, competitive or difficult to control by cultural or chemical practices. The noxious weed laws were constructed to protect agriculture and natural resources from these invasive species. These weeds are aggressive and persistent. In many cases the species spreads through seed dispersal and root biomass. The best way to control noxious weeds is Integrated Pest Management. It is important to consider all methods available and use what is appropriate for a particular site. Weeds have very few boundaries. Property owners have a legal responsibility to control noxious weeds, but it is equally important to be a good neighbor. We must work together to eradicate these biopollutants.
